Under this project we adopted community based approach & child cantered approach for the sustainability of the project. We organized Health and Hygiene awareness workshop for the children as well as their families and communities to educate them about health and hygiene. Through these programs we put our effort to realize them that health and hygiene is the most significant factor for their impoverish condition. Hence we imparted education on substance use, and sexual and reproductive health including HIV/AIDS and STDs, Health & Hygiene by organizing workshops, group discussion & demonstration.
Slum children and street children are vulnerable to exploitation due to lack of education. They don’t have skills to cope up with the difficult circumstances. Educating street children involves helping them acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes in specific areas of need. Life skills or psychosocial skills include decision making and problem solving, creative thinking and critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills, self-awareness and empathy, and coping with emotion and stress. Demonstration, Feedback and practice. Group discussion, role-play, and games are key activities that helped in developing basic psychosocial skills.
